The UFC is returning to Atlanta next month for a June 14 Fight Night event, and Cody Garbrandt has been added to the lineup.
The former bantamweight champion is set to face Brazil’s Raoni Barcelos, the organization announced.
UFC Atlanta is headlined by former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman taking on streaking contender Joaquin Buckley. Former strawweight champion Rose Namajunas is also scheduled to fight in Atlanta.
Garbrandt, 33, hasn’t competed since being submitted by fellow former champ Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 300 in April 2024.
Barcelos, 38, is riding back-to-back wins, including an upset of Payton Talbott in January.
The June 14 Fight Night card is the first UFC event in Atlanta since UFC 236 in 2019.
Elliott moved from Vegas to Baku
Oban Elliott will no longer face Ramiz Brahimaj this weekend.
The welterweight announced on his social media Sunday that due to visa issues he will not be able to compete at UFC Fight Night: Blanchfield vs. Barber at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Instead, Elliott announced he will face Seok-hyun Ko on June 21 when the UFC debuts in Baku, Azerbaijan. Ko was also slated to compete this weekend in Las Vegas.
The UFC has not officially announced Brahimaj’s new opponent, however, he will reportedly face Ko’s original opponent, Billy Ray Goff, on the May 31 Las Vegas card to complete an opponent swap.
Flyweights to headline upcoming Apex card
Two of the top-ranked men’s flyweight contenders are scheduled to face each other in Las Vegas this summer.
No. 3-ranked contender Amir Albazi will take on No. 5-ranked Tatsuro Taira in an Aug. 2 main event at the UFC Apex.
Albazi is 17-2 in MMA and looking to rebound from his first loss under the UFC banner. He dropped a five-round unanimous decision to former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno in Edmonton this past November.
Taira is 16-1 coming off his first pro loss, a five-round split decision to No. 1 contender Brandon Royval in an October main event that won each fighter a Fight of the Night performance bonus.
