Oilers’ Connor Brown exits Game 3 after big hit from Stars’ Petrovic

The Edmonton Oilers will have to close out Game 3 without one of their middle-six wingers.

It was later announced at the start of the third period that he would not return.

Petrovic skated towards Brown from the far side of the offensive zone as the Oilers attempted to break out and caught him with a forceful check at the half-wall with 4:57 remaining in the second period.

Head coach Kris Knoblauch didn’t have an update on Brown after the game.

Brown has eight points (five goals, three assists) for Edmonton in the playoffs.

The 31-year-old is yet to miss a game this season.

Brown has already been battling injuries this series. He was a game-time decision for Game 1 and missed morning skate ahead of Game 2 on Friday with an undisclosed injury.
