Lightning sign WHL Playoffs MVP Harrison Meneghin to three-year, ELC

After a successful end to the 2025 WHL post-season, Harrison Meneghin has earned an NHL contract.

Meneghin, 20, is fresh off winning WHL Playoffs MVP last week after helping lead the Medicine Hat Tigers to their first Memorial Cup appearance since 2007. Through 16 post-season contests, he recorded a 14-1 record while posting a .906 save percentage, a 2.35 goals against average and three shutouts.

The six-foot-three, 169-pound netminder also appeared in 35 regular-season games for the Tigers throughout the 2024-25 season, logging a 23-9-2 record with a .901 save percentage, 2.56 goals against average and three shutouts.

In 126 career WHL games with Medicine Hat and the Lethbridge Hurricanes, Meneghin logged a 69-42-8-3 record with a .910 save percentage, 2.68 goals against average and seven shutouts.

The 20-year-old lost his father, Derek, unexpectedly on the final day of the WHL regular season. He returned to the team just days later for the start of the playoffs and went on to backstop the Tigers to their sixth Ed Chynoweth Cup — and first since 2007.

Meneghin, from South Surrey, B.C., was selected in the final round of the 2024 NHL Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning. He’s just the third player — and goaltender — in Tigers history to be named WHL Playoff MVP, joining Kevin Nastiuk (2004) and Matt Keetley (2007).
