Thunder’s Jalen Williams fined $25,000 for clothing with profane language

Fashion can be costly, even beyond a price tag.

The NBA announced on Monday that Oklahoma City Thunder’s Jalen Williams has been fined $25,000 for wearing clothing with profane language in his most-game media session on Sunday.

Williams and the Thunder pulled out a Game 7 win over the Denver Nuggets less than 24 hours prior to the fine being announced, punching their tickets to a Western Conference Finals appearance against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The 24-year-old was seen wearing a t-shirt that said “(expletive) ART LETS DANCE” when addressing reporters after the victory.

Williams was a big part of OKC’s blowout Game 7 win, finishing the contest with 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting to go with five rebounds and seven assists. Through 11 playoff games, the third-year pro has averaged 19.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.5 steals.

The former 12th overall pick in 2022 made 69 regular-season appearances through 2024-25, averaging career highs of 21.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.6 steals as he earned his first NBA all-star selection.

The Thunder and a lighter-in-the-wallet Williams will host the Timberwolves for Game 1 of the West Finals on Tuesday. Catch the action on Sportsnet 360 or Sportsnet+ at 8:30 p.m. ET / 5:30 p.m. PT.
