For the first time in 25 years, the New York Knicks are off to the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Knicks ended the Boston Celtics’ quest to become back-to-back NBA champions with a dominant 119-81 win in Game 6 on Friday.
After a 4-2 series win over the Celtics, the Knicks now get a chance to renew an old rivalry with the Indiana Pacers, who advanced to the conference finals with a Round 2 win over the top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers.
It’s the first time the Knicks have made the conference finals since the 1999-00 season when they lost to Reggie Miller and the Pacers in six games.
The Celtics played Game 6 without their top scorer Jayson Tatum, who was out for a second straight game with a torn Achilles tendon he suffered in Game 4.
